How We Hire - The Dripos Way
Dripos hires based on our principles.
Our Guiding Principles.
Along with the company guiding principles, each team also has their own principles that are used to make sure we all stay in tune with what really matters most.
At the core of Dripos, is our customers. We build for them, we get feedback from them, and we are paid by them. We are where we are today because of them, and keeping them as our core principles will always align our goals around them.
Everyone at Dripos should have all the information needed to do their job without much intervention. This requires radical candor, immediate feedback, and giving and receiving actionable feedback. No shit sandwiches or foreplay, just candid feedback aimed to help.
Phil Knight said it best: Grow or Die. At the core of every process is the need to iterate and continue improving it. Nothing is ever perfect, and nothing should be stagnant.
Everyone has an ego and it’s important that we leave it at the door every morning. We want to ensure everyone trusts each other, and has faith that everyone beside us knows what they are doing and has the companies best interests in mind.
It’s better to learn something new and fail than it is to sit on an idea for months and eventually succeed. You learn more from failures, and while we don’t want to fail, the more we learn the better everyone becomes. The only important thing is to not make the same mistake twice.
We all have lots of hats. It’s important that if we are doing something, we take full ownership and do it perfectly the first time. We should be leading by example showing others how things should be done, and encouraging others to take ownership of their tasks as well.
If one is not learning, they are not growing. As humans, we should always be looking to learn more, and especially learn from those who have done it before. We should be a student to not just others but ourselves, and stay eager to learn at every opportunity.
Every day there will be new problems and challenges that need to be solved. We have to take these problems head on and sometimes fully switch up what we’re doing. We need to embrace the new structures, and make sure we are taking enough risks to ensure we are actually doing something that matters.
We all have lots of hats. It’s important that if we are doing something, we take full ownership and do it perfectly the first time. We should be leading by example showing others how things should be done, and encouraging others to take ownership of their tasks as well.
Everyone wants the best, so we should have the best. If we are not working along side the best people, and if our systems are not the best we can make, we are doing a disservice to our vision. We should constantly be looking to shoot for the moon, and not settle for anything but the moon.
When things are hectic, we tend to put a lot of things on top of each other. This convolutes systems and makes everything more difficult to do. We should always look to remove, simply, and optimize anything we are doing.
We used to build for now, but now we build for the future. We need to make sure we can last another day, week, year, and we do that by question the past and looking towards the distant future.
If we ever think we are ahead, that’s when the next great thing will come and take our leave. We should be always thinking we are behind, always think we are about to run out of money, and always be doing more for less. Stay lean and hungry.
The best way to figure something out, is to discuss it. It’s important that we can all debate and in a sense, argue our points. Then at the end of the day have the best point win, and buy into whatever the champion is.
The journey of a startup includes grinding and putting your blood, sweat, and tears into the mission. You don’t spend a lot of time thinking about the journey that’s happening, and it’s important to stop and smell the roses and see how awesome of a thing we are making and how much fun we are having doing so.
We must be able to connect and be chameleon in the room. We should have the ability to get along with all walks of life and not hold ourselves in a higher regard than others.
We are a small, agile team thrives on self-starters. We are proactive in setting goals, managing our own workload, and continuously seeking opportunities for improvement. This intrinsic drive will fuels success and contribute to the team's overall momentum.
We’re self-motivated and possess a "hunter" mentality to actively pursue leads and close deals. However, we must balance this with a collaborative spirit. We believe in teamwork, willing to share knowledge and learn from others within the small team.
