Nanelle and Andy Newbom are true "'Coffee Lifers." Over the past 21 years, their remarkable journey through the coffee world has given them hands-on experience in nearly every corner of the industry. They have worked as baristas, bar backs, cashiers, roasters, machine technicians, green coffee buyers, trainers, competitors, cuppers, judges, wet and dry mill operators, exporters, importers, and coffee brokers. Along the way, they co-founded the Barista Guild of America, Barefoot Coffee Roasters, and IPCoffees Mexico Importers, and have led coffee programs for multiple companies. Through each role, they have immersed themselves in both the craft of coffee and the vibrant community of people who make the industry so special.

Their latest venture, Torque Coffee, brings together decades of experience and a shared commitment to quality, sustainability, and fairness. Founded in 2022, Torque combines beautifully crafted coffees with a pioneering Proportional Pricing© model that returns at least 20% of each coffee’s retail value to producers, helping reshape how value is shared throughout the coffee supply chain.
