About the Shop
Brave Bean Coffee Company is a veteran-owned specialty coffee roaster, retailer and coffee shop based in the Pittsburgh area. Founded by Milo Sparenzo — a 13-year Air Force veteran — and business partner Ray Ramey, Brave Bean was born from a simple but powerful idea: bring exceptional coffee back to Milo's hometown of Pitcairn, PA, and use it as a way to support veterans and build community.
Their original location sits at 550 Broadway Blvd in Pitcairn, where they roast their own small-batch specialty coffee on-site. Their second location, opened in Pittsburgh's North Shore neighborhood at 20 E. General Robinson St., brought that same mission — roasting excellence, honoring service — into the heart of the city. Both shops run seven days a week, and every cup sold supports veterans and local communities.
