Introducing the NYC Coffee 100 Challenge
We spend every day building tools for independent coffee shops. So it felt right to put our money where our espresso is.
The Dripos team is taking on the NYC Coffee 100 — a challenge to visit the best 100 independent coffee shops in New York City before the end of the year.
The list wasn't pulled from thin air. We curated it from the most trusted voices in food and beverage media: The Infatuation, Eater, and Food & Wine, for example. These are the shops that critics, locals, and specialty coffee obsessives keep coming back to across all five boroughs.
Why we're doing this
Our whole mission is to help independent coffee shops run better. That means understanding them not just as businesses, but as places — the ones that anchor neighborhoods, train serious baristas, and build real community around a cup.
The NYC Coffee 100 is our way of getting out from behind our laptops and actually sitting in the seats our customers are filling every day.
How to follow along
We'll be documenting the journey on Instagram @dripos as we work through the list — borough by borough. You can also track our progress at the link below, where we're keeping a live count of how many we've visited (and how many we've got left).
We're starting at 0 of 100. We've got a lot of coffee to drink.
